The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has identified signs of monopoly within LLC "I-TRAVELS," which operates the online platform for shared car rides, BlaBlaCar. This was reported by the press service of the AMCU.
On December 19, the AMCU provided recommendations to the managing company regarding the cessation of actions that exhibit signs of violating competition protection legislation.
The committee also examined the procedures for establishing, paying, and refunding the service fee for using the services of this online platform.
"The company did not provide a proper explanation of the pricing mechanism for the service fee," the AMCU noted.
The regulator found that under the same cancellation conditions for a trip by the passenger (i.e., not due to the driver's fault), one passenger was refunded the service fee at the company's discretion, while another was not.
At the same time, the company does not inform passengers at the time of service about all the conditions for refunding such fees.
The committee provided LLC "I-TRAVELS" with mandatory recommendations to cease the specified actions within two months.
If these recommendations are not followed, the regulator will initiate proceedings for violations of competition protection legislation.
