Еврокомиссия начнет выплачивать Украине кредит, используя замороженные активы России.

The European Commission (EC) announced on Thursday that starting in early 2025, Ukraine will begin receiving a loan as part of macro-financial assistance amounting to €18.1 billion, with repayment secured by revenues from frozen Russian assets. This was reported by "Interfax-Ukraine."

"Today's decision by the European Commission to allocate €18.1 billion to Ukraine comes at a crucial moment. It demonstrates the strength of the EU's long-term commitments to support Ukraine's fight for freedom," said Valdis Dombrovskis, the European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity.

According to him, these funds will enable Ukraine to address urgent budgetary needs. The financing also represents the EU's contribution to a joint initiative by G7 countries to provide loans to Kyiv, backed by revenues from frozen Russian assets, which are estimated to total €45 billion.

The funds will be disbursed in tranches throughout 2025, with the first tranche scheduled for early January, the European Commission clarified.

"The decision was made after the Commission established that Ukraine had fulfilled all agreed political conditions for receiving this amount," the EC stated.
