The "Naftogaz" group will receive funding from Norway for gas purchases through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
This was announced by the company's press service.
This funding is part of a comprehensive support package aimed at ensuring Ukraine's energy security. Overall, Norway is allocating around 380 million euros for gas purchases, the restoration of power grids, emergency generators, and nuclear safety.
"In addition to weapons and ammunition, Ukraine is in dire need of support for its energy sector. People in Kyiv regularly experience power outages, so funding for gas purchases is a crucial aspect of Norway's assistance," noted the country's Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
It was previously reported that since the beginning of 2024, Russia has launched 16 massive attacks on Ukraine's gas infrastructure.
