Russia has seized 18 GW of Ukrainian power generation since the start of the full-scale war. This was reported by Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.
“18 GW of generation has been occupied, including hydro, thermal, and the largest nuclear power plant in Europe — the Zaporizhzhia NPP,” he wrote on Facebook.
The minister noted that no energy system in the world has faced such challenges.
According to him, over the past three years, Russia has carried out more than 30 large-scale attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, causing billions of dollars in damage.
“Each massive strike on the energy sector involves hundreds, and now up to three hundred various types of munitions, simultaneously targeting power plants, substations, power transmission lines, and gas infrastructure,” Halushchenko added.
