Швейцария одобрила трехлетний пакет помощи Украине на сумму $1,6 млрд.

The Swiss Federal Council has approved a support program for Ukraine covering the years 2025-2028, amounting to 1.5 billion Swiss francs (approximately 1.6 billion dollars). This information is available on the official website of the Swiss government.

The funds will be allocated across three main areas: economic recovery, public services, and the protection of civilians.

As part of the economic recovery efforts, Switzerland plans to finance support for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as agriculture. A portion of the funds will also be directed toward the restoration and repair of urban infrastructure, particularly in frontline regions.

Public services will be supported through funding for healthcare, education, and social services, as well as infrastructure such as energy supply, public transport, and water supply.

The "Protection of Civilians and Peace" cluster includes assistance in humanitarian demining, the search and identification of missing persons, as well as the documentation and prosecution of violations of international humanitarian law and human rights.

This three-year assistance program is part of a larger initiative planned for 12 years, with a total budget of 5 billion Swiss francs.

In the first phase, aid will be financed through international cooperation loans. During the second phase, from 2029 to 2036, the possibility of attracting other funding sources to cover the remaining 3.5 billion francs will be considered.

It is expected that a third of the funds from the first phase (500 million francs) will be allocated to recovery projects involving Swiss companies.

Earlier reports indicated that actual consumer inflation in December 2024 exceeded the forecasts of the National Bank of Ukraine, and prices are expected to continue rising.
