Ukrainians who use coal, firewood, or other solid fuels for heating will be eligible for a subsidy of up to 21,000 hryvnias. The support program will affect approximately 500,000 families, as reported by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to Shmyhal, 1.4 billion hryvnias have already been allocated for housing subsidies and benefits in October.
"In the first ten months of this year, approximately 29.6 billion hryvnias have been accrued and paid out to Ukrainians in the form of subsidies and benefits. The process of applying for subsidies has been simplified, and for those who received subsidies during the heating season, automatic reassignment is in place," he noted.
Specifically, citizens heating their homes with coal or firewood will be able to receive an additional payment of up to 21,000 hryvnias.
