Donald Trump, the 47th President of the United States, has declared a state of emergency in the energy sector, which will allow the extraction of energy resources in previously restricted areas. He announced this during his first speech after the inauguration.
Trump linked the inflation crisis to rising energy prices and excessive spending.
"Today I am declaring a state of emergency in energy. We will drill, baby, drill. [...] We will become a wealthy nation once again, and it is the liquid gold beneath our feet that will help us achieve this," the president emphasized.
