The UN plans to allocate over $2.6 billion to assist Ukrainians in 2025 as part of an approved plan. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal following a meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths, as well as UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi.
“This pertains to the UN's humanitarian needs and response plan for Ukraine in 2025. We also discussed ongoing and new support programs. In particular, I emphasized the importance of priority projects such as providing drinking water to communities in southern Ukraine, demining, alternative sources of heat and energy, housing restoration, and shelter construction, as well as business development programs,” Shmyhal noted.
Additionally, he mentioned that the UN has allocated $492 million to support the current heating season.
