The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved bill No. 9381, which allocates approximately 10 billion UAH of surplus revenue from the National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" to settle debts in the electricity market.
According to the law, the funds received by the company from dispatch management in 2023-2024 will be distributed as follows:
Previously, "Ukrenergo" had debts exceeding 30 billion UAH to the state enterprise "Guaranteed Buyer" for electricity produced from alternative sources.
Experts emphasize that these multi-billion debts pose a threat to the functioning of the energy sector. The government, parliament, and the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities must urgently take measures to prevent an energy crisis.
