Some state registries remain inaccessible due to a Russian cyberattack, creating challenges for banks in opening new accounts and issuing loans. This was reported by the National Bank of Ukraine in response to a request from the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
"The operations of the National Bank have not been affected by this cyberattack. All information systems of the NBU were functioning and continue to operate as usual. However, the inaccessibility of certain state registries is impacting the activities of banks to some extent, particularly regarding the opening of new accounts and the provision of loans," the central bank stated.
Additionally, the NBU reminded that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, state registries were also disabled. At that time, the central bank provided clarifications on the operational procedures for banking institutions under such conditions. These recommendations were in effect until mid-June 2022.
