The Supreme Court has made a final decision in the dispute between Kyivmetrostroy and the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office regarding the recovery of over 139 million hryvnias. The company "Kyivmetrostroy," which was supposed to construct the metro in Vynohradar, instead deposited the allocated funds. The Prosecutor's Office demanded the return of these funds to the capital's budget.
The case was examined in several courts, and in April and October 2024, the Kyiv Economic Court and the Northern Economic Court of Appeal upheld the prosecutor's claim. However, "Kyivmetrostroy" filed a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court, which, in turn, rejected it and upheld the decisions of the previous instances.
This situation is linked to delays in the construction of metro stations in Vynohradar. In 2021, the company reported issues with meeting deadlines, and subsequently, the construction was halted. The contract was terminated in 2023, and a new contractor for the project became "Avtostrada," owned by Maksym Shkil.
