Russia's attack on Ukraine's energy facilities: which regions are experiencing issues with electricity and water supply?

"Ukrenergo" has implemented schedules for emergency power outages. There have been incidents reported in Sumy, Lviv, and Volyn regions.

In the morning, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Haluschenko, announced that the energy infrastructure facilities were targeted in the morning attack by the Russian Armed Forces. He wrote this on his Facebook page.

"Once again, the energy sector is under a massive assault from the enemy. Attacks on energy facilities are occurring across Ukraine," — the minister stated.

Attack on Lutsk

The Russian Armed Forces launched a massive missile attack on the city of Lutsk. Several impacts were recorded.

Part of the city has lost power, and electric transport is not operational. Critical infrastructure is being connected to generators, and children have transitioned to remote learning.

Attack on Rivne

According to the Rivne Regional Military Administration, due to the Russian attack, over 280,000 subscribers are without electricity. There are also disruptions in water supply.

"Schools in Rivne and parts of the Rivne district are being moved to remote learning. Stay calm and remain in safe places. More information will follow," - informed the head of the OVA, Alexander Koval.

Attack on Lviv Region

The Lviv Regional Military Administration reported that Russian occupiers attacked energy facilities in the region using airstrike capabilities. Details will be disclosed later.

"The enemy attacked energy infrastructure facilities. Details will follow," - reported Maxim Kozitsky.

Attack on Mykolaiv Region

In Mykolaiv Region, power was cut off due to a massive air attack by the Russian Federation. This was reported by the head of the OGA, Vitaly Kim.

"As a result of the massive missile bombardment, there are power outages in the region," — he informed.

Attack on Sumy Region

Several infrastructure facilities were attacked in Sumy Region. Schools, hospitals, residential buildings, and water supply facilities have been damaged.

"In the morning, the Russians launched a missile strike on the infrastructure of the Shostka community. Three explosions were recorded. All necessary services are working at the site. The consequences of the enemy attack are being clarified," — the OVA reported.

Attack on Khmelnytskyi Region

The head of the Khmelnytskyi OGA reported on the consequences of the Russian attack in Khmelnytskyi Region. Due to damage to energy facilities, there is a lack of electricity supply in certain settlements.

"Regarding Khmelnytskyi Region, during the 'Air Alarm' signal today, the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed three enemy missiles. As a result of the attack, there is a partial lack of electricity supply in the Shepetivka and Khmelnytskyi districts. Additionally, NEC 'Ukrenergo' implemented emergency shutdowns. An administrative building was also damaged. There have been no reports of casualties or injuries," — he informed.

Serhiy Tyurin expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for protecting the skies.

Despite the power outages, there are no train delays

Ukrzaliznytsia reported that despite the massive shelling across the country and localized power outages, more than 150 trains of Ukrzaliznytsia are running on schedule, and the situation with movement is stable and controlled.

"Due to the power outages in certain areas, we have delays of just over 1 hour for 6 trains, but reserve locomotives are in operation, and we are gaining speed. We will gradually reduce the delay," — reported UZ.

Let us remind you that military administrations have provided details of the strike by the Russian Armed Forces. In particular, in Lviv Region, the city of Stryi was attacked, in Volyn Region — Lutsk, and Rivne was also affected. Explosions were also reported in Vinnytsia Region and in Kyiv.
