The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has simplified the conditions for businesses exempted from electricity outage schedules. Now, companies that import at least 60% of their electricity needs can avoid restrictions. Previously, this threshold was set at 80%. This was announced by government representative Taras Melnychuk in the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the new regulations, businesses will not experience electricity outages if:
These enterprises are exempt from all restrictive measures, including outage schedules, power restrictions, and emergency shutdowns.
Energy Minister Herman Haluschenko explained that the changes were made possible due to the increase in the electricity import limit from Europe to 2.1 GW. This decision aims to stimulate commercial imports, develop domestic generation, and enhance the resilience of the energy system amid shortages.
