On the morning of February 1, Russian forces launched missile strikes on Poltava, targeting a civilian facility—a five-story residential building in one of the city’s districts. It has been reported that as a result of the strike, 11 people lost their lives, including a young actress from the "Theatre of Contemporary Dialogue," animal rights advocate, and volunteer, Nastya Kolvakh. Her body was discovered among the rubble of the house in Brailky. The news of her death was announced on the theatre's page where Nastya worked.
"Today, February 1, a Russian missile killed our colleague, an actress, co-author of performances and productions. Our Nastya Kolvakh," the note states.
Friends and acquaintances of Nastya are already sharing memories online, recalling her as a "bright person," a talented and "multifaceted" young woman.
"Nastya was multifaceted; she worked in both the cultural sphere and IT. She actively volunteered and was, (it’s a terrible word, 'was') a bright person," they remember her at the "Theatre of Contemporary Dialogue."
Nastya was also known in Poltava as an active animal volunteer. There’s a well-known story of her helping to rescue bats from an apartment in the Levada neighborhood last year. During renovations in a multi-story building, a colony of these animals was discovered and people began throwing them out of the window. Nastya, along with a team of like-minded individuals, took action to save them, which led to the bats being taken to the Ukrainian Center for Rehabilitation of Bats, as reported by "Suspilne."
Nastya was involved not only in rescuing animals and performing on the stage of the Poltava theatre. She also lectured at the local film club "Kinodvizh," planted trees in the city, and was a member of the writing club "Pishu zaraz," reported the online publication "Poltavshchyna."
It’s worth mentioning that Nastya's boyfriend is a military serviceman in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Recall that on the night and morning of February 1, the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles. The most affected areas during the attack were Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Poltava. The Russian Federation launched massive drone strikes on Zaporizhzhia, which local authorities described as the largest attack on the city in recent times.
