Where in Ukraine is the cheapest land? The Ministry of Agrarian Policy has identified the top three regions.

The moratorium on the sale of agricultural land was lifted on July 1, 2021.

In 2024, a total of 106,669 land plots covering an area of 320,660 hectares were sold in Ukraine. The average price per hectare was 46,678 hryvnias ($1,163). This information was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

The highest average price was recorded in:

  • Ivano-Frankivsk region — 89,744 hryvnias/ha,
  • Lviv region — 71,390 hryvnias/ha,
  • Poltava region — 66,232 hryvnias/ha.

The lowest average price was observed in:

  • Zaporizhia region — 33,981 hryvnias/ha,
  • Mykolaiv region — 34,033 hryvnias/ha,
  • Sumy region — 34,936 hryvnias/ha.

It is noted that the moratorium on the sale of agricultural land was lifted on July 1, 2021. Prior to that, it covered 17.5 million hectares.

Since the moratorium was lifted (July 1, 2021) until December 31, 2024, a total of 604,000 hectares of land (198,337 plots) has been sold:

  • Legal entities purchased 25,157 plots (78,307 ha) at an average price of 62,656 hryvnias/ha ($1,561).
  • Individuals acquired 81,512 plots (242,353 ha) at an average price of 41,510 hryvnias/ha ($1,034).

According to the ministry, the volume of land sold in 2024 exceeded that of the first two and a half years following the lifting of the moratorium.
