Law enforcement officers in Nikopol have informed a 43-year-old suspect who pasted his photos into other people's documents and used them in pawnshops across the region. This was reported by "Vідомо," referencing the National Police of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region.
On January 20, the police received a report about a suspicious man who visited a pawnshop and presented a Ukrainian citizen's passport, which likely contained a pasted photo. Officers arrived at the scene. During their conversation, the suspect produced nine more counterfeit documents – all featuring the same photo on the first page. An investigative team was summoned to the scene, and the officers confiscated the documents for further examination.
It turned out that the offender had pasted his photos into found passports that he had previously printed.
On January 31, investigators notified the suspect of his charges for committing eighteen offenses under part 1, 3, and 4 of Article 358 (forgery of an official document and use of a knowingly forged document) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
