"Studio Kvartal 95" has released an old video on its YouTube channel featuring a joke about the murdered linguist Irina Farion. This was reported by the media outlet "Speaking Great Lviv".
Journalists claimed that the studio allegedly aired this video, but the report included a screenshot from the "Kvartal" YouTube page, indicating that the video was published 8 days ago.
"A repeat of the New Year’s special for 2024 was broadcast, which mocked linguist Irina Farion, who was killed last summer. Despite the tragedy, the producers decided not to cut it and show the so-called joke. There are no apologies or explanations on the official resources of 'Kvartal'," the report stated.
It should be noted that this video has been removed from the "Studio Kvartal 95" YouTube page.
The video featuring Irina Farion was sharply responded to by the commander of the "Svoboda" battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine, Petr Kuzik. He called it mockery towards the deceased.
"Kvartal 95!!! You are nothing but animals! You deserve neither respect nor humane treatment! Irina Dmitrievna Farion was killed for the Ukrainian language, for her Ukrainian stance! The mockery of fallen Ukrainians will not be forgiven!" Kuzik wrote on his Facebook page. The officer of the "Svoboda" battalion of the National Guard, Andriy Ilyenko, also expressed his position. He demanded an apology to the daughter of the deceased.
"Studio Kvartal 95, you find this very funny and amusing, but your 'joke' about the murdered fearless and defenseless woman Irina Farion is disgusting. Apologize to her daughter Sofia, the widow of a warrior, and remove this filth," Ilyenko wrote.
This publication was also shared by Irina Farion's daughter, Sofia Semchyshyn.
Recall that earlier, Sofia Semchyshyn criticized boxer Oleksandr Usyk after his victory over British fighter Tyson Fury for dedicating the win to the mothers of Ukraine, while previously calling Farion a "Kremlin agent".
