How the 3G network will be phased out in Ukraine: an answer.

Mobile operators in Ukraine have begun testing a gradual transition from 3G to 4G in several localities. This process will take place in stages, and all subscribers will be notified in advance to ensure a smooth switch. This was reported by the National Commission for the Regulation of Electronic Communications (NCEC).

The transition aims to enhance 4G network coverage and simplify the process for users. The timeline for completion depends on both the operators and the subscribers themselves. It is guaranteed that no one will be left without communication.

Subscribers using old feature phones will continue to be serviced on the 2G network. The discontinuation of 3G will not affect the ability to make calls and send SMS. There will be no changes for users of such devices.

If a locality has only 3G coverage, the shutdown of this technology will occur only after 4G coverage is available. Thus, internet access for subscribers will be maintained.

Those whose SIM cards do not support 4G are offered a free replacement at the operator's service centers while retaining their number. If the phone does not support 4G, operators provide trade-in programs for old devices with discounts on new ones.

The main goal of the transition from 3G to 4G is to improve call quality and provide users with access to faster internet services.
