The last day of January will bring a bit more warmth to Ukrainians, but a change in weather is just around the corner. Starting in February, Ukraine will experience a drop in temperatures, which will gradually decline. The weather forecast for tomorrow has been published by meteorologist Natalia Didenko.
According to her, Thursday, January 30, will be the warmest day in the near weather outlook for Ukraine.
On Friday, January 31, daytime temperatures will reach +6...+9°C, with some areas in the west hitting up to +11°C. In the south of the country, spring-like weather will linger, with thermometers rising to +9...+14°C.
According to the weather forecast for tomorrow, significant precipitation is unlikely across Ukraine. Only in the western regions will there be occasional light rain or drizzle.
Residents of Kyiv will greet the end of January under relatively comfortable weather conditions: in the capital, nighttime temperatures will be +3...+5°C, and during the day around +7°C. However, one should be prepared for an increase in the southeast wind.
Didenko noted that starting Saturday, temperatures across Ukraine will begin to drop, signaling a cold spell ahead. The meteorologist advises finding a hundred reasons today to go outside, enjoy the fresh air, and practice for the April temperatures.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center reported new temperature records set on January 29 across various regions of the country. In 17 cities, daytime maximums exceeded previous historical records for this date.
The weather was most anomalously warm in the west and south of the country.
In Kyiv on January 29, two temperature records were recorded. The minimum air temperature did not drop below +6.3°C, which is 4.2°C higher than the previous record set for this date in 1936 and 1979.
Additionally, the average daily air temperature was the highest recorded for this date, reaching +7.1°C, exceeding the previous record from 2002 by 1.4°C. Over the years, such a temperature corresponds to April 3.
As a reminder, in three districts of Kyiv, cherry blossoms have bloomed. The Kyiv City State Administration stated that on January 26 and 27, temperatures reached levels typical of late March.
