The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced that it has added PVH Corp, which owns the Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger brands, as well as the American biotechnology company Illumina, to its list of "unreliable companies."
According to the agency, these companies have implemented "discriminatory measures against Chinese enterprises" and "have harmed the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies."
Companies listed may face fines and a wide range of other sanctions, including freezing of trade operations and revocation of work permits for foreign employees.
Separately, the State Administration for Market Regulation of China stated that Google is suspected of violating the country's antitrust laws, and an investigation has been initiated. No details regarding the case or possible violations have been provided yet.
