The number of fraud cases in Ukraine has decreased.

In 2024, a total of 64,978 criminal cases were initiated in Ukraine.
В Украине наблюдается снижение числа дел о мошенничестве.

In 2024, Ukraine opened 64,978 criminal cases under Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, "Fraud." This represents a 21% decrease compared to 2023, when a record number of such cases was recorded—82,609. Despite the decline, the number of fraud cases remains 2.7 times higher than before the onset of the full-scale invasion.

It is noted that the number of cases has significantly decreased over the year. In the first quarter of 2024, an average of about 8,000 cases were opened each month, but by the end of the year, this figure dropped to 3,300. However, despite the decrease, fraud continues to be one of the most prevalent categories of crime in the country.

Furthermore, there has been an increase in the effectiveness of investigations. In 2024, 15,607 fraud cases were sent to court, accounting for 24% of all opened cases. In comparison, only 18% of such cases were sent to court in 2022 and 2023.

Thus, although the number of fraud cases has decreased, it still significantly exceeds the figures from before the war, highlighting the ongoing relevance of this issue for law enforcement agencies in Ukraine.
