A Ukrainian woman found a way to smuggle her husband out of Ukraine by "adopting" a child in Moldova.

The couple already had two minor children with valid documentation; however, this was insufficient for official travel abroad.
"Украинка нашла способ вывезти мужа из Украины, 'купив' ребенка в Молдове."

A Ukrainian woman acquired in Moldova a birth certificate for her child to help her husband leave Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The man attempted to cross the border using counterfeit documents.

"The 44-year-old resident of Kharkiv was traveling by bus to Hungary through the 'Tysa' crossing point. At the checkpoint, he presented his passport along with two photocopies of birth certificates for children issued by Ukrainian government authorities and a photocopy of a certificate issued in Moldova," the message states.

During the document verification, the border patrol had doubts about the legitimacy of the birth certificate for the third child issued in Moldova.

"Initially, the man insisted that he was the father of three minor children, the youngest of whom was born in Moldova. However, during questioning, he admitted that he was actually raising only two children and that his wife had purchased the certificate abroad," the Border Guard Service noted.

The man was denied entry at the state border.

Additionally, the border guards sent a report to the National Police regarding the signs of a criminal offense under Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, "Forgery of documents, seals, stamps, and forms, their sale, and the use of forged documents."

The fate of the offender will be determined by the court.

As a reminder, in South Korea, a man intentionally gained weight to avoid conscription into military service.
