Russian servicemen are intentionally injuring themselves to avoid the assault on the islands of the Dnipro in the Kherson region. This was reported by the partisan movement "Atesh".
"Agents of the 'Atesh' movement from the 61st Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces are relaying information about widespread incidents of self-harm among the servicemen of this brigade. There have been cases of intentional limb fractures and even self-shootings to pass them off as combat injuries," the statement reads.
In "Atesh," it was clarified that the aim of such actions is to get admitted to a hospital, thereby placing themselves as far from the front lines as possible and avoiding participation in the assaults on the islands in Kherson.
"The harsh living conditions, enormous losses, and lack of prospects for success are forcing them to seek any means to evade combat," the partisans noted.
According to them, they continue to receive information about the critical morale state within the units of the Russian Armed Forces.
"This once again proves that the war against Ukraine is becoming an unbearable ordeal for the Russian servicemen themselves. We urge Russian soldiers to follow the example of their comrades by inflicting harm on themselves to save their lives!" the "Atesh" group emphasized.
Recall that on January 21, "Atesh" reported that a Russian serviceman shot his commander due to bullying and extortion within the military unit.
On January 14, partisans reported that the Russian Armed Forces are suffering catastrophic losses on the left bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region, with some companies having less than half of their combat-ready fighters remaining.
