The Ministry of Defense has separated food procurement from logistics for the first time: the Defense Order Technology has signed an agreement.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported this.

It is noted that the pilot project will commence in Kyiv and the Kyiv region and involves a clear separation of procurement and logistics functions.

The Ministry of Defense explained that the new contract differs significantly from the existing supply model.

From now on, the responsibilities for contracting manufacturers will transition directly to the DOT, while the logistics operator will only be responsible for:

• the completeness, timeliness, and quality of food transportation to military units;
• warehouse operations at their own facilities;
• coordinating the processes of goods shipment;
• documentary support and payment closure.

The Ministry of Defense believes that this approach will make the procurement processes more transparent and manageable.

Additionally, the pilot project includes ongoing monitoring of results for further refinement and scaling to other regions.

"We are already seeing significant interest from well-known Ukrainian brands. Thanks to the open selection of manufacturers, the military's diet will include products familiar to them from civilian life," added Galina Litosh, director of the DOT nutrition program.
