The Ministry of Defense has procured its first trucks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine under state guarantees.

In January, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense provided all-terrain cargo trucks from a domestic manufacturer to combat brigades for the execution of special and combat missions.

This was reported by the ministry's press service.

The discussion concerns the first batch of vehicles acquired under one of the contracts backed by state guarantees for the supply of armaments and military equipment for the army's needs.

"The state contract was signed in December 2024. By January 2025, we received about 80 units of cargo vehicles with wheel configurations of 4x4 and 6x6. They can transport personnel and military cargo," clarified the Director of the Procurement Policy Department of the Ministry of Defense, Gleb Kanevsky.

The localization of production for these vehicles in Ukraine exceeds 50%.

According to Kanevsky, in 2024, the Ministry of Defense focused on procuring military equipment for logistics under state guarantees: armored vehicles and medical evacuations, specialized cargo vehicles, bath-laundry complexes, fuel tankers, etc.

In 2025, the ministry will concentrate on acquiring offensive weapons.
