Drivers in Ukraine are allowed to operate vehicles during martial law even with expired licenses. The important detail was reported by the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (GSC MIA).
A driver's license that has expired during the period of martial law will remain valid throughout Ukraine. Licenses can be replaced after the lifting of martial law or by visiting a service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which currently offers this service.
In Ukraine, drivers only receive one valid license at a time. When exchanging or restoring a license, a new document with a different number and series is issued each time.
New driver's licenses can be obtained:
The validity period of the initially issued driver's license is 2 years. After that, licenses are issued with a validity of 30 years.
We remind you that if military personnel violate military registration rules and have their driver's license revoked, they are prohibited from operating vehicles.
