The police of Synelnykove have apprehended a 46-year-old assailant who assaulted and robbed an elderly woman. This was reported by "Vidomo," referencing the Main Directorate of National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region.
The crime took place on December 26 at around 7 PM in the village of Panasivka, Synelnykove district. The suspect approached the home of the 82-year-old victim, knocked on the window, and asked to come inside. When the trusting woman let him in, he attacked her, beat her, and stole her money.
After committing the crime, the assailant hid from law enforcement in a thicket near the village, but not for long. He was apprehended by the police. The suspect turned out to be a 46-year-old homeless man with a prior criminal record.
Investigators, in coordination with the Synelnykove District Prosecutor's Office, informed the thief of his suspicion under Part 4 of Article 186 (robbery committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The assailant has been remanded in custody. He faces up to 10 years behind bars for his actions. The investigation is ongoing.
