Не обновил информацию и не явился после 5 повесток: как наказали нарушителя мобилизации.

A Ukrainian man received summonses at a checkpoint for a month but never made it to the military unit. He was punished for evading mobilization. Details of the case are known from the verdict of the Kovalivka District Court in Sumy dated November 8.

Mobilization 2024: what the evader did

The defendant is a married native of the village of Nizy, who is raising a 17-year-old child and works as a locksmith at "Gorvodokanal". He is registered as a conscript and was declared fit for service by the military medical commission on May 2, 2022.

On July 10, 2023, the man was handed a "combat summons" calling him to report on July 12. He was informed about the consequences of failing to appear, but on the appointed date, the recruitment station did not see him.

On July 29, the Ukrainian was attempted to be served a "combat summons" for the second time, this time not at the TCC, but at a checkpoint. However, he "categorically refused to sign," resulting in him receiving the summons in the presence of two witnesses.

On July 31, the conscript again failed to appear. This was classified as evasion of mobilization.

The position of the mobilization evader 2024

In court, the conscript fully admitted his guilt. He explained that he had undergone a medical examination after receiving the summons at the checkpoint and was deemed fit by the commission. The following year, he was stopped again at the checkpoint and handed a summons to update his data at the TCC.

Due to "fear that he would be taken for military service," the Ukrainian did not appear in response to the summons. However, "around July 9 or 10," workers from the TCC, accompanied by a police officer, came to his home. The man was informed that he was wanted and was handed a summons to remove him from the wanted list.

Upon appearing at the military enlistment office, the accused received a summons to report with his belongings for transfer to the unit. He ignored the call but was soon stopped again at the checkpoint. This time, the man refused to accept the summons and did not go to the unit again.

The Ukrainian explained his failure to appear for the summonses by stating that he "lacks the necessary military training and has health problems." He also mentioned that he paid a fine for not updating his military registration data.

Mobilization violation 2024: what the court decided

The court noted that the evader had secured employment at "Gorvodokanal" during the case proceedings and was seeking an exemption from mobilization. He could not explain why he did not attempt to find official work in 2022-2023. The Ukrainian was found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison.
