According to the law, by February 4, 2025, all individuals classified as temporarily unfit must undergo a re-examination by the military medical commission (VVK). However, over 1 million people have yet to complete the necessary medical examinations for various reasons. This was reported by Irina Vereshchuk, the Deputy Head of the President's Office.
"It is clearly unrealistic to process such a large number of people through the VVK by February 4," she stated. Therefore, lawmakers are currently working on amendments to the legislation to extend the deadline for re-examinations for those temporarily unfit without applying penalties.
"The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Health are urgently ensuring appropriate schedules for the VVK to timely process all individuals classified as temporarily unfit and are coordinating the summons for people to the VVK," Irina Vereshchuk reported, adding that all individuals in this category must undergo a re-examination as required by law.
According to her, there are currently 1,036 VVKs in Ukraine, through which over a million citizens must pass by February 4. However, based on the capacity of the medical commissions, it has become clear that this "procedure" will require a significant amount of time.
"Therefore, it is estimated that at least three months are needed to allow people to undergo the VVK without penalties or sanctions," she summarized.
Recall that temporarily unfit individuals can only undergo the VVK upon referral issued by the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCK).
