Russian forces have advanced in six locations in Donbas, occupying a neighborhood in Toretsk, according to DeepState (map included).

The units of the Russian Armed Forces continue their advance on the eastern front, exerting pressure on Pokrovsk and Toretsk, achieving successes along the combat line near the occupied Kurakhovo. The estimated advance of the enemy ranges from a hundred meters to nearly 2 kilometers. Analysts from DeepState provided an update on the situation in Donbas as of the morning of December 6 in their Telegram channel.

Toretsk Direction. In the analysts' note, it is mentioned that the Russians have advanced in Toretsk, with no changes reported at other points along this segment. The map indicates the emergence of a new "tongue" of the Russian Armed Forces on the southern outskirts of the city. The estimated enemy advance is about a kilometer, with some neighborhoods held by Ukrainians being squeezed between two protrusions of the front line.

Pokrovsk Direction. In this direction, the Russians have made advances at four points along a 40-kilometer stretch of the front. The nearest settlement to Pokrovsk where the Russian Armed Forces have made progress is the village of Zelenoe. According to the analysts, the enemy managed to push the combat line back by 500 meters and strengthened their positions along the M04 road. Additionally, there is an advance on the western flank near Pyschany (about 700 meters), and on the eastern flank near Vozdvizhenska and Baranovka (from a hundred meters to nearly 1 kilometer), as shown on the map.

According to DeepState data, the Russians have occupied Kurakhovo and are advancing from the northern flank of the city. The latest advance of the Russian Armed Forces is near the village of Petropavlovka. The map indicates that the enemy has pushed the front line back by almost two kilometers.

Russian Offensive — Situation as of January 6

In a report from the Ukrainian command published at 22:00 on December 5, the activation of the Russian Armed Forces' offensive on Pokrovsk is confirmed. According to the General Staff, over the past day, the Russians launched 50 assaults near Pokrovsk. Further south, near Kurakhovo, the enemy's attacks were more than twice as few — 22. In the Toretsk direction mentioned in the analysts' report, there were 12. In other directions, the count ranged from one (in Dnipro) to 12 assaults (near Vremenka).

It is noteworthy that on January 3, a commander reported on the battles that are taking place in Toretsk. According to him, the Russians are changing into civilian clothes, hiding in secret locations, and waiting for the main units of the Russian Armed Forces to commence their advance.
