The police in Dnipro have uncovered a man involved in a series of thefts from train passengers. This was reported by "Vidomo" referencing the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Since October, the Dnipro police have received reports of stolen property from railway passengers. Upon receiving information about the crimes, law enforcement began searching for the suspect. Investigators determined that a 36-year-old resident of Mykolaiv Oblast was responsible for the thefts.

It turned out that the thief specialized in stealing from passenger carriages – he would take passengers' bags, extract valuable items from them, and then return the bags to their original place. As a result, people often did not immediately realize they had become victims of a crime.

On November 19, investigators informed the man of his suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – part 4 of article 185 (theft) and part 1 of article (or their damage), which could lead to a sentence of up to 8 years behind bars.
