Polish farmers have announced a protest against imports from Ukraine.

Polish farmers' organizations are planning a demonstration in Warsaw on January 3rd, protesting against the free trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur countries, as well as the import of Ukrainian agricultural products into Poland.

Polish farmers are set to picket the European Commission's representation in Warsaw, as well as the National Opera House, where an official ceremony will take place on Friday to mark the commencement of Poland's presidency in the EU.

The protest is organized by over 20 agricultural organizations united in the "Association of Agricultural Organizations."

"All agricultural organizations in our country will protest against the harmful policies of the European Union, against Ms. Ursula von der Leyen, who imposes such policies that will force us to shut down," stated the chairman of the Farmers' Union "Solidarity," Tomasz Obshansky.

According to him, farmers will protest against five directives from the European Commission.

These include the free trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur countries, the European green deal, the import of Ukrainian agricultural products into Poland, the destruction of Polish forests and hunting rights, as well as creating barriers to the development of the Polish economy.
