A popular product in Ukrainian stores is seeing a price increase: find out how much it has gone up.

The primary reasons for the increase in the price of this product at the beginning of 2025 are the low harvest yield, consistently high demand, and the conclusion of the sales season for this root vegetable. Currently, the average price stands at 32.4 UAH per kilogram.
Цены на популярный товар в украинских магазинах продолжают расти: узнайте, на сколько он подорожал.

In recent weeks, carrot prices in Ukraine have risen due to the depletion of quality root vegetable stocks among many local producers. Analysts from the EastFruit project report this.

Experts add that an additional factor contributing to price pressure is the low harvest for 2024, which has been significantly affected by unfavorable weather conditions. Currently, the price range for carrots is between 25-32 UAH/kg, which is 10% higher than last week.

"Market participants attribute the latest price increase in this segment to the steady demand for quality carrots. Meanwhile, the supply of these root vegetables in the Ukrainian market has noticeably decreased this week," the analysts' report states.

Experts point out that a significant number of producers have announced the end of the carrot season. Additionally, some farming operations are selling off the remaining stocks from harvested batches or are refraining from sales, waiting for spring to sell their products at higher prices.

"As of today, the price of carrots in Ukraine is already on average 2.3 times higher than at the beginning of January 2024. Industry experts explain this price level by the reduced harvest of this product this season due to weather anomalies during the summer," the experts note.

According to data from the Minfin publication, the average price for this product in popular supermarket chains is 32.4 UAH/kg. Meanwhile, in December 2024, the average price for carrots was 29.63 UAH per 1 kg of product.

It was previously reported that prices for one product reached a peak recently in Ukraine. Forecasts suggest that this product will not become cheaper. Its import is too expensive due to high demand in Europe, while the area of sowing in Ukraine is only decreasing.

There have also been reports about which regions of Ukraine have seen a rise in coffee prices recently. The cheapest espresso can already be found for the second year in a row in the Khmelnytskyi and Sumy regions. Kharkiv is the only region where a cup of coffee has not become more expensive.
