British military expert Sean Bell is convinced that Russia is planning to carry out a massive missile strike on the embassies of Western countries in Kyiv. He shared this information during an interview with SkyNews.
According to Bell, Russian leader Putin has "reached a peak of anger" and may likely intensify attacks on Kyiv. The primary reason for this could be the U.S. approval for Ukraine to use American-made missiles deep into Russian territory.
"Ultimately, the Ukrainian capital has a fairly effective air defense system; however, the problem lies in the fact that debris from downed missiles and drones causes significant damage," Bell stated.
The expert mentioned that embassies are protected by international conventions. However, Bell suspects that the U.S. has concluded that Russia will not respect the immunity of Western diplomatic missions.
"Accordingly, there is a risk that these institutions could become targets for future attacks [by Russia]. But as I have already noted, the Ukrainians have a sufficient number of air defense assets around Kyiv, which will help minimize the risks. This very threat prompted the U.S. embassy to announce restrictions on its operations," Bell concluded.
Sean Bell has progressed from a junior officer to a combat pilot in the Royal Air Force. After leaving the service, he became an expert on the British television channel SkyNews, where he comments on military actions in Ukraine and Israel.
The former combat pilot is actively involved in supporting Ukrainian veterans. On platform X, Bell revealed that he successfully raised £10,000 for the SUPERHUMANS project.
In a recent appearance on the Red Matrix podcast, the former combat pilot stated that allowing Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles for strikes deep into Russia "is overdue," but crucial for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
On the morning of November 20, the U.S. embassy warned of a possible massive strike on Ukraine. Diplomats cautioned that due to the threat, the embassy in Kyiv would temporarily cease operations.
Later, several embassies reported a threat of a "significant" missile strike from Russia. They actively warned their citizens about the impending air assault and advised them to leave Ukrainian territory.
In response to these statements, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on the closure of foreign diplomatic missions in Kyiv. They reminded that threats of shelling from Russia have already become a daily reality for Ukrainians for over a thousand days.
