A soldier of the Russian Armed Forces faced off against two tanks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which were allegedly hunting for the shelter of a Russian military member. The Russian, who took part in this "intense battle," was nicknamed "Putin." In his hometown, there are complaints about the "heroic" death of a fellow villager at the front in Ukraine. OSINT analyst known as Necro Mancer wrote about the details of "Putin's feat" on the social network X (Twitter).

The message from Necro Mancer appeared online late in the evening on January 27. The analyst drew attention to a post on a banned Russian social network. The community of the city of Engels in the Saratov region of Russia mourned the loss of Igor Putilin. According to the article, Putilin was referred to by his fellow villagers by the surname of the President of the Russian Federation, "Putin." It turned out that "Putin" died in Ukraine nine days before the publication of the obituary — approximately on January 15, 2025. The photo shows a man in the military uniform of the Russian Armed Forces, who traveled to war 600 km from home.

Russian soldiers shared with "Putin's" fellow villagers the adventures of the Russian Armed Forces soldier, which ultimately led to his death. They claim that Igor's position was attacked by two tanks from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Igor quickly prepared the Fagot anti-tank guided missile system for battle and managed to knock out one tank, as stated by his "comrades." However, the second tank completed the job: "Putin" damaged the tracks but was ultimately blown up. The article from the residents of Engels also reflects their views on Ukrainians: citizens of the country that Russia attacked are referred to as "fascists." Additionally, the soldier, who came to foreign land, is said to have fought "for our country and people."

We remind you that in December, the Pentagon estimated the number of Russian soldiers who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war. Meanwhile, Forbes reported that the Russian Armed Forces lost a significant number of armored vehicles and explained how the Russians are addressing this issue.
