The Russian Armed Forces' ballistic missile "Iskander" struck the center of the city of Izium on February 4, in the Kharkiv region. Civil structures, including administrative and residential buildings, were damaged by the Russian attack. According to relevant authorities, the number of injured has increased. Among the injured are three children aged between 6 and 16 years. A pregnant woman is among the deceased. The head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleg Synegubov, wrote about the situation in Izium on his Telegram channel.
Synegubov published updated information about the casualties. Initially, the official reported 50 injured, which later rose to 55. Among the victims are three children. The Russian missile injured a 6-year-old boy and two girls aged 14 and 16. The condition of the 14-year-old girl is critical, while the other minors are in moderate condition, the official added. The overwhelming majority of injured adults are government employees (from the Tax Service, the Children's Affairs Service, state executors, etc.). There are also casualties among college staff.
The death toll from the Russian ballistic strike remains unchanged at five: three men (ages 44, 69, and one unknown) and two women (details unknown), according to Synegubov's report. Later, the official added that new information about the women emerged: they were 18 and 19 years old, one of whom was pregnant.

It should be noted that on the afternoon of February 4, the Russian Armed Forces struck Izium with ballistic missiles, hitting the city center. In the initial moments after the tragedy, Synegubov reported four fatalities and a 15-year-old girl in extremely critical condition. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the incident. The head of state published a video showing the extensive destruction in Izium. He also urged partners to pressure Russia to prevent such incidents from occurring again.

On December 25, a similar incident occurred in Kryvyi Rih: Russians struck a residential building, causing a section to collapse from the first to the fourth floor.
