"Monthly contributions will be required," says the MP regarding salary cuts starting December 1 and changes in taxes.

Starting from October 1, entrepreneurs were expected to pay an increased military tax; however, they may instead face penalties due to outstanding debts. To prevent this situation, MP Nina Yuzhanina suggested that the parliament should postpone the new tax until January 1.
"С 1 декабря нардеп сообщил о снижении зарплат и изменениях в налогах, которые потребуют ежемесячных выплат."

Ukrainians could have received a lower salary as early as December 2024 if the publication on the "Voice of Ukraine" portal had not disappeared. After the new tax law, signed by the president and passed in the Verkhovna Rada, comes into effect, salaries will decrease by the amount of the military tax, which has tripled. The changes that citizens, as well as individual entrepreneurs of groups 1-4, can expect were discussed by MP and member of the financial committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Nina Yuzhanina, during a broadcast on the "Kyiv 24" TV channel.

Yuzhanina explained that the new tax law will affect the incomes of all citizens. This means that salaries and dividends on deposits will change, in particular. The MP noted that starting from December 1, salaries will decrease, as from this date 5% of the military tax will be deducted from incomes instead of the previous 1.5%. She also mentioned the "Thousand of Zelensky," which Ukrainians are expected to receive in the winter of 2024-25. According to her, it is noteworthy that Ukrainians will receive this "thousand" only once, but will subsequently lose part of their income every month.

"Everyone needs to understand that when you go to receive 1,000 on December 1, your deductions from your income will be raised at the same time. You need to realize that when you receive a lower salary, it is not the employer's fault. It is simply due to the increase in the military tax rate," Yuzhanina explained.

Moreover, the politician clarified the dilemma that could lead to Ukrainians receiving a lower salary at the beginning of December than they would have otherwise. The dilemma arose from the effective date of the new tax law. The law appeared on the "Voice of Ukraine" portal on the evening of November 28. This meant that the military tax should be deducted from the salary calculated on November 29. A similar calculation applies to the incomes of entrepreneurs, but they could find a way to circumvent this situation. When the publication from the "Voice of Ukraine" was removed, it postponed the law's implementation. The law will indeed take effect on December 1, and people will not lose anything prematurely, as stated in the broadcast.

"All government institutions calculate the main salary and the second part of the salary on the last working day of the calendar month. And that is today. This means that by today, everyone would already be within this five-percent threshold," the MP clarified.

During the broadcast, they also touched on another issue related to the prolonged delay in signing the tax law. The text of the law states that the military tax must be paid by individual entrepreneurs of groups 1, 2, and 4 starting from October 1, 2024. For this, as well as for other contributions, a 10-day period is provided, which has long passed. To prevent entrepreneurs from suffering, the MPs should urgently adopt another draft law that would allow the tax to be paid starting January 1, Yuzhanina emphasized.
