Citizens are continuously seeking new reasons to avoid mobilization into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and to criticize the actions of territorial recruitment centers (TRC). Instead, they express aggression towards the staff of the territorial center who distribute summonses and invite individuals to the recruitment office. This behavior stems from the fact that people are reminded of the war, a topic they prefer to forget. Regarding the attitude of Ukrainians towards military recruiters and why it poses a problem, it was discussed on the Facebook page of the Poltava Regional TRC and SP.
On the Poltava territorial recruitment center's page, the position of military recruitment officer Major Roman Istomin was shared. He initially listed the complaints people had against the TRC and noted that these complaints were addressed one by one. Specifically, combat commanders were appointed as the heads of recruitment offices, and summonses began to be issued by soldiers after their injuries. However, this was not enough to change the attitude towards military recruiters, and now soldiers "personally bear all the negativity directed at the TRC," the officer pointed out. In his opinion, citizens are unwilling to mobilize and thus seek various reasons to justify their behavior. The real reason behind such actions is the reluctance to acknowledge the war that is constantly reminded by the presence of recruitment offices on the streets.
"Everyone understands that this is just an excuse. Therefore, they find culprits in the form of military personnel from the TRC," Istomin emphasized.
The representative of the Poltava Regional Recruitment Office also explained to Ukrainians that helping the army is not just about "sending virtual hearts" or donating 50 UAH. According to him, the best appreciation for the AFU is "personal assistance in repelling enemy armed aggression."
"Those who ordinary citizens wished health and thanked for their protection are turning into subjects of mockery and hatred. This hatred comes from those who do not want to acknowledge the war," Major Istomin noted.
It should be noted that on November 13, Roman Istomin commented on the suggestion from some politicians to send recruitment center staff to the war. The military officer stated that most TRC employees are civilians, so there is no point in discussing the possibility of forming several brigades of the AFU.
Reminder: On November 26, a brawl involving gunfire occurred in Volyn, which allegedly involved police and recruitment office staff.
