For about two hours, residents have been hearing an unusual sound resembling the flight of airplanes. According to data from the Telegram channel "Kyiv Info," the noise is technical and poses no threat; however, it began during an air raid alert, which may have frightened the population.
Another local media outlet, "Darnytsia Live," reports that the issue is related to the Kyiv CHPP, which has started releasing steam, a process that is associated with such sounds. Despite this, as noted later, people in the streets began looking for airplanes in the sky.
The Kyiv City State Administration warned that the technological noise in Kyiv is linked to the operation of a large heat source on the right bank of the city. The situation does not pose a threat to the population and does not endanger people, as the production process is controlled.
"This is an integral part of the production process, as it involves large-scale equipment. No further information is provided for safety reasons," the statement reads.
Prior to this, city authorities also warned about adverse weather conditions, which even necessitated lowering the national flag.
"According to forecasts from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are expected in Kyiv. According to the KP 'Kyivzelenstroy,' the flag will remain lowered until weather conditions improve," the statement indicates.
Recall that on November 20, it was reported that the U.S. Embassy warned of a potential massive strike on Ukraine on November 20. Diplomats urged U.S. citizens to be ready to take immediate shelter in case of an air raid alert and warned that, due to the threat, the embassy in Kyiv would temporarily cease operations.
