A cold snap is heading to Ukraine, with rain expected to turn into snow in various regions. This was reported by meteorologist Natalia Didenko on November 19.
Weather changes will begin in Ukraine on Wednesday. Most regions will still experience mild temperatures ranging from +9 to +15 degrees. Cooler temperatures will be observed in the Zakarpattia, Lviv, and Volyn regions, with temperatures between +6 and +9 degrees.
Precipitation is unlikely. The weather forecast indicates that heavy rain is expected only in the western part of the country.
On Thursday, an atmospheric front will move further, bringing rain that will transition to snow, colder temperatures, and strong winds.
By Friday, the weather change will affect the entire country. On November 23, another "batch of precipitation" is anticipated.
On Wednesday, dry and warm weather is expected in the capital, with temperatures reaching up to +11 degrees. Later in the week, from November 21-23, Kyiv will also experience a drop in temperature. Didenko warned of intermittent precipitation accompanied by strong winds.
The Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) reported that the weather forecast indicates wind gusts of 15-20 m/s on November 20 in Kyiv and the surrounding area.
Residents of the capital have been advised to securely close windows during strong winds and, if necessary, seek shelter in the nearest building or natural cover. In such weather, it is advisable to stay away from billboards, power lines, large trees, and not to park vehicles nearby.
Kyiv residents were also encouraged to remove items from balconies and loggias in advance that could fall outside.
It’s worth noting that November 19 marks the 1000th day of the full-scale war initiated by Russia. President Volodymyr Zelensky published a video reflecting on what Ukrainians have endured during this time.
Kyiv residents have created a petition to connect kindergartens to constant power supply lines to prevent outages. The Kyiv City Council explained why this is not feasible.
