The situation in the Kupiansk direction is escalating due to the efforts of the Russian Armed Forces. The region has decided to enhance the evacuation of civilians. This was announced on October 15 during a telethon by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synegubov.
He reported that the Kupiansk direction currently faces the most severe situation in the entire region. Local authorities can no longer guarantee the restoration of electricity, heating, and water supply in Kupiansk. Repair teams are unable to carry out work due to constant shelling.
On October 15, during a meeting of the Kharkiv Regional Defense Council, a decision was made to intensify mandatory evacuation. The evacuation zone will expand to include Kupiansk itself and three additional frontline communities. Media sources have clarified that this pertains to the Kondrashevsk, Kurilov, and Petropavliv communities.
Synegubov stated that nearly 4,000 people are currently on the left bank of the Oskol River, with around 3,000 more on the right bank. Local residents will be evacuated to Kharkiv and other populated areas in Kharkiv and surrounding regions.
According to the Regional Military Administration, 234 families with children have already been evacuated from Kupiansk and nearby communities over the past month, but due to "military threats," it was decided to conduct a full evacuation of the civilian population.
Mandatory evacuation has also been declared in the Izium district, specifically in the settlement of Borovaya.
"For now, we will forcibly evacuate only families with children. Currently, we have 134 such families," the head of the regional administration added.
The Kharkiv Regional Military Administration informed that those wishing to evacuate can call the free 24-hour hotline at 0 800 33 92 91.
It is worth noting that journalist Yuriy Butusov reported that National Guard troops thwarted an enemy attempt to breach the border in Kharkiv Oblast. The fighters attacked the Russian Armed Forces in the Belgorod region.
On October 14, National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pivnenko reported on the failure of the Russian assault in Kharkiv Oblast. Defenders not only inflicted losses on the enemy but also captured several occupiers.
