Fatal accident in Galicia: a BMW crashed into a truck, resulting in the deaths of several teenagers (photos included).

Investigators determined that the driver of the foreign car was speeding and crossed into oncoming traffic. There were five individuals in the vehicle, aged between 15 and 20, and all of them lost their lives.

On the evening of December 30, a fatal accident occurred in Ukraine, claiming the lives of five young individuals. Details and photos from the scene were shared on December 31 by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The traffic accident took place on the N-09 highway "Mukachevo-Lviv" in the village of Nastashino. Rescuers extricated the bodies of two girls — aged 15 and 18 — and three boys — aged 20, 18, and 16. Additionally, the emergency service personnel disconnected the battery terminals of the vehicles to prevent a fire at the collision site.

"Nineteen rescuers and four units of equipment were involved in the elimination of the accident. A psychologist from the State Emergency Service was present at the scene, providing psychological assistance and support to witnesses and relatives of the deceased," the agency noted.

The press service of the Ivano-Frankivsk police clarified that the report of the accident was received on the "102" hotline around 21:41.

According to the investigation, the 20-year-old driver of a BMW 520, residing in the city of Burshtyn, carelessly exceeded the speed limit and veered into the oncoming lane on a curved section of the road. As a result, the foreign car collided with a DAF truck driven by a 52-year-old resident of Moldova.

Law enforcement also determined that the remaining tread depth of the rear tires on the BMW did not meet established standards. The accident resulted in the deaths of the car's driver and four passengers. The truck driver was tested for intoxication and was found to be sober.

The police initiated a case for violating traffic regulations that led to multiple fatalities. The penalty for this offense ranges from five to ten years of imprisonment, along with a driving ban for up to three years.

"Remember, your actions on the road matter for the safety of all participants in traffic. Adhere to speed limits, signal your maneuvers, and pay close attention to road signs and signals! Under no circumstances should you drive under the influence," the agency urged.
