On Monday, December 30, President of the United States Joe Biden announced a new military aid package for Ukraine, amounting to $2.5 billion.
"Today, I proudly announce nearly $2.5 billion in security assistance for Ukraine as the Ukrainian people continue to defend their independence and freedom from Russian aggression," the White House quoted President Joe Biden.
According to Biden, the Pentagon is currently in the process of delivering hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, thousands of rockets, and hundreds of armored vehicles that will strengthen Ukraine as it heads into winter.
It is important to note that within this new package, $1.22 billion is allocated for assistance under the USAI program, meaning this weaponry and equipment will need to be manufactured before being delivered to Ukraine. The remaining $1.24 billion will come from Pentagon stockpiles.
