Female students accuse director Bilous of harassment: he has been suspended from teaching at KNUTKT.

The instructor from the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television named after Karpenko-Kary and director of the "Young Theatre," Andrii Bilois, has been suspended from his position following allegations of sexual harassment made by a former student. This was announced by the rector's assistant for administrative affairs, Olha Sukhova, during a meeting with students, reports hromadske.

Bilois has been suspended from teaching duties until the police investigation is concluded.

"The statements received have been addressed; we interviewed Mr. Bilois and forwarded the information to law enforcement. Tomorrow morning, we will understand how they will classify these allegations and how long it will take. During this time, he will not be working with students," Sukhova stated.

She added that discussions about whether Andrii Bilois "did or did not do" anything will only take place after law enforcement establishes the facts.

Additionally, the university administration announced plans to install video surveillance cameras, enhance the process for students to file complaints, and prohibit communication between students and instructors outside of group chats. Professional development will be organized for instructors, and experts will conduct informational sessions with both instructors and students.

On January 25, Andrii Bilois responded to inquiries from hromadske journalists via messenger, stating that he "filed a report with the police" and "will not comment while the investigation is ongoing." The specifics of his statement were not clarified by the director, according to the journalists.

Recall that on January 20, a video surfaced in which a student from KNUKT anonymously accused the well-known director and university instructor Andrii Bilois of harassment and publicized messages that he allegedly sent her. The video indicated that there are other victims as well. The university administration announced on January 23 that they had contacted the police to investigate the allegations.

On January 24, the student who accused Andrii Bilois of harassment revealed her identity. In conversations with journalists, Sofia, who is currently living in Los Angeles, mentioned that she is gathering testimonies from other affected girls.
