The Russian command deployed paratroopers in a column of armored vehicles and sent them to storm a settlement on the eastern front. To halt the enemy's advance, the Ukrainian Armed Forces positioned a Leopard 2 tank. The tank fired a series of shots, changing its position under the cover of partially collapsed buildings. Ultimately, the enemy was stopped, and the area was shrouded in smoke from destroyed Russian equipment. Details of the battle in Donbas were shared by the OSUV "Khortytsia" in their Telegram channel "Khortytskyi Viter."
The OSUV "Khortytsia" report appeared in the Telegram channel "Khortytskyi Viter" at noon on January 28. The message indicates that the video shows an attack by the Russian Armed Forces, in which the enemy utilized five armored vehicles (BPMs). The Russian armored vehicles were confronted by a single Leopard 2A4 tank, as stated in the report. The tank maneuvered and fired from various angles, ultimately neutralizing the entire column of Russian forces. The attempt by the occupiers to capture the settlement was thwarted: all five armored vehicles were destroyed, as well as the paratroopers inside.
The video of the confrontation between the Leopard 2A4 and the Russian armored vehicles was captured by a drone, which detailed the actions of both sides. Initially, a column of Russian equipment can be seen moving along a rural road next to a tree line. Then, the Ukrainian tank, which is "hiding" in ambush, is shown. Following that are shots of strikes, with each shot hitting the enemy's armored vehicles. It is also noticeable that the Leopard 2A4 changes position to target the enemy effectively. Gradually, the area becomes covered with plumes of smoke rising from the destroyed targets. At one point, a Russian BPM can be seen fleeing the battlefield, while a Ukrainian tank fires at it in pursuit.
The command did not specify the exact location of the battle, only noting that it occurred in the Pokrovsk direction. The fighting was conducted by the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
In the report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 16:00 on January 28, it is stated that there were 58 attacks by the Russian Armed Forces in the Pokrovsk direction. The Russians attacked Ukrainian positions near 19 settlements along a front stretch of approximately 80 km.
It is worth noting that on January 27, OSUV "Khortytsia" representative Viktor Trehubov discussed the situation near Pokrovsk. According to Trehubov, the Russians are attempting to flank the settlement from the west. If the Russians succeed in this plan, it will complicate the supply of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units holding Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, and also fighting near Velyka Novosilka, he stated.
We remind you that on January 28, military expert Ivan Stupak warned of a "cauldron" covering an area of 1,200 sq. km that could be formed by the Russian forces in Donbas. Meanwhile, on the eve of January 27, a member of parliament reported on what has been done for the construction of fortifications in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
