At the beginning of summer 2025, a significant increase in electricity tariffs for the population is anticipated in Ukraine. According to forecasts, the cost will rise from the current 4.32 UAH to 6.7 UAH per 1 kWh. This was reported by the head of the Union of Consumers of Utility Services of Ukraine, Oleg Popenko, on Facebook.
The expert noted that the Ministry of Energy and NAEC "Energoatom" support the transition to market prices for the population, which take into account the costs of electricity production.
According to Popenko, starting from June 1, 2025, the tariff will be 6.68 UAH per 1 kWh, and over the next two to three years, it could rise to 9 UAH.
"Last year, the market price was 6.5−7 UAH per kWh, but today this figure has already exceeded 9 UAH. Therefore, starting June 1, the electricity tariff will likely be raised to 6.68 UAH. Within 2−3 years, the tariff will increase to 9 UAH," the expert predicts.
