Strike on a bunker in Russia's Kursk region: Ukrainian forces injured a top North Korean general. Here’s what we know.

As a result of the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the command post of the Russian Armed Forces in the village of Maryino, Kursk region of Russia, one of the North Korean officers present there may have been injured following agreements between Pyongyang and Moscow. The details of Ukraine's strike using Western Storm Shadow missiles were reported by The Wall Street Journal.

Journalists obtained information about the consequences of the strike on the bunker from unnamed sources among Western politicians, who did not specify who was involved. A source stated that during the air attack, a high-ranking top general from North Korea was injured. No information has been received regarding his condition or that of other victims.

UAF struck the Russian bunker with Storm Shadow — details

The strike by the Defense Forces on the Russian military facility in the Kursk region took place on the afternoon of November 20. Footage taken by a reconnaissance drone shows about 10 Storm Shadow strikes hitting a location near the village of Maryino. Later, OSINT analysts determined that a command bunker of the Russian Armed Forces is located at this site; the missiles had sufficient power to penetrate meter-thick ceilings and cause damage.

Meanwhile, analysts from the "CyberBoroshno" project identified the exact coordinates of the impact — 51.5919869,34.9476394 and 51.5865010,34.9477441. Additionally, a message was found in a Russian public forum mentioning losses of the Russian Armed Forces as a result of the Storm Shadow strike. It was indicated that Russian Lieutenant General Solodchuk, the first deputy commander of the troops of the Lenin district, may have been hit. Furthermore, 33 individuals — soldiers and officers from Russia and North Korea — could have been injured. An additional 18 individuals are likely to have died.

The Ukrainian command has not yet confirmed the consequences of the strike on the bunker near Kursk.
