The Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, signed a grant agreement with the World Bank for up to $15 billion as part of the G7 initiative, as announced by the Ministry of Finance on the morning of December 30. This funding is part of a larger contribution from the United States totaling $20 billion under the G7 program.
Ukraine has already received the first tranche of $1 billion earlier through the "Foundations of Growth" program.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude to the United States and the World Bank for implementing the initiative:
"Thank you to the United States and the World Bank for supporting the initiative that makes Russia pay for its aggression against Ukraine."
Funding will be provided through a special financial intermediation fund established by the World Bank in October 2024.

Minister Serhiy Marchenko noted that this program will provide Ukraine with guaranteed funding for social and humanitarian needs in 2025, allowing it to allocate its own resources for military purposes.
