On January 9, in the city of Samara, a 37-year-old local resident selected an item in a store and asked the saleswoman to place his choice in a bag. After that, he boldly snatched it from the woman's hands and fled with the stolen goods, as reported by "Vydomo" with reference to the Main Department of the National Police of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk Region.
On the same day, operatives from the criminal police of the Novomoskovsk district police department tracked down the suspect and apprehended him. The offender turned out to be a man who had previously faced legal issues and had been involved in property crimes.
On January 10, law enforcement officials informed the suspect of charges under Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — robbery committed under martial law. The thief faces a prison sentence of 7 to 10 years. The investigation is ongoing.
