In 2024, approximately 210,000 individual entrepreneurs (IEs) closed their businesses in Ukraine, marking a 32% increase compared to 2023 and setting a record high for the last five years.

Closures are especially pronounced in the IT sector. The number of closed IEs in 2024 (38,700) increased by 29% compared to 2023 (29,900). Compared to 2021 (14,300), this represents an increase of almost 161%.

Against the backdrop of rising closures, there has been a decline in new IE registrations – 5% lower compared to 2023.
